My work revolves around sensual functional ceramic furniture for the home. I create basic and symbiotic pieces that act to ground the spaces they are in. I think of my forms as systems of objects that relate to mundane fundamental interactions, like sitting, eating, and placing.
I believe in the egalitarian nature of clay. It is important to me to create objects that invite the artist’s hand into every day life.
We live in a ‘flattened’ world; we collectively need sensuality to feel fulfilled. Ceramics coagulates shared and living experiences.
